metres east of
Church of St. James
GV II
Headstone. Circa 1789 to William Raine. Sandstone slab c. 1.2 metres high
with shaped top. High-quality low-relief carving of 3 cherubs'heads,
asymmetrically arranged, reminiscent of similar group in former Church at
Eggleston (q.v.). Well-cut inscription to W. Raine and members of his family
died 1789-1809.
