Headstone. Circa 1770 to Elizabeth, wife of Richard Vasey of Powtree, died
aged 24; to Margaret, his second wife, died 1790 aged 39; and to Richard, died
1792, aged 57. Sandstone ashlar slab c. 1.5 metres high, with shaped moulded
top. Latin inscription 'Sit in pace locus eorum'. Rear verse: 'Go home all
friends and leave me hear (sic)/For I must lie till Christ/appear/At whose
arise/I hope/to have/A joyfull rising from/my grave.'
