Headstone. To William Gibbon, died 1792, and his wife Christian died 1819.
Sandstone ashlar slab c. 1.6 metre high, with shaped top, tooled edge and
well-cut inscription to the husband of Christian 'Who in Return of the great
Share/of Happiness/she enjoyed during their Union/hath affectionately erected
this as a Token/of her Gratitude ...' below decoration of 2 cherubs, palm
leaves, and swag with wheatear drops.
Rear verse 'Stop Passenger see here I lie/If thou art Old prepare to die/If
thou art Young prepared be/This Moment Death may seize on thee' over
inscriptions to members of the family to 1847.
