14/91 II
House.Late C17 with mid-late C18 alterations. Coursed squared gritstone,
graduated stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Quoins. C20 board doors
to left of centre in chamfered quoined surround with restored triangular-
headed lintel in square chamfer. Recessed chamfered mullion windows
throughout, of 2 lights (mullion missing) to left and 3 lights to right of
entrance, all under a continuous dripmould. A 3-light window to first
floor left, rebuilt from C17 masonry; the central and right-hand 2-light
windows are built in C17 style. Corniced end stacks. The proportions and
probable direct-entry plan with end stacks belong to the mid C18, the C17
building probably had lower eaves (the quoins change just above first-floor
sill level) and a lobby-entry plan at the right gable. Interior not
inspected at resurvey.
