House. 1665 with extensive rebuilding 1880. Coursed gritstone rubble,
Westmorland slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays, composed of 2-bay range to left
with projecting 2-storey porch and large projecting gabled wing to right.
Quoins. 3 steps up to porch entrance with chamfered surround and ornate
lintel with scalloped lower edge and panel with '16 SS 65' in relief. Hood-
mould over stepped 3-light double-chamfered mullioned window with hood-mould
above, and small rectangular opening in gable. Left bay: 4-light double-
chamfered mullioned window with hood-mould and 3-light mullioned window
above. To right of porch: single-light double-chamfered window; tall 2-
light mullioned window above. Right gabled wing: a 4-light double-chamfered
mullioned window to ground and first floors; small round-arched window in
gable set above date stone with '1880' and anchor in relief. Kneelers,
gable coping, stacks to left end and ridge of wing.
