House. Dated 1702 with late C19 alterations. Coursed gritstone rubble and
coursed well-dressed gritstone blocks, whitewashed; graduated stone slate
roof. Probably of 2 builds: 2-storey, 2-bay, lobby-entrance plan, main
block (in well-tooled stone), with l-bay addition to right (in poorer
stone). Main block: central C20 panelled door in architrave with plaque
" H "
inscribed: G A . Inserted doorway to right reduced to window. Windows
1702
flanking central door: left a 2-light flat-faced mullion window, to right a
tall former sash window in plain stone surround, with C20 casement. First
floor: central small oval light with, possibly original, lead cames; to left
a narrow single light, possibly a reduced 2-light window as ground floor.
Right: former sash window as ground floor. Shaped kneeler and gable coping
left. Large ridge stack above entrance. Bay to right, small oval window
above; 3-light flat-faced mullion windows to left, ground and first floors,
the mullions slightly recessed. Shaped kneeler and gable coping with ridge
stack to right. Interior not inspected at resurvey.
