footpath immediately
to west of premises
of Denbar Potatoes

Barn and stable. Probably early C18 with C19 addition. Rubble magnesian
limestone, pantile roof, 2 storeys, 5 bays; lower 2-bay addition on right.
Barn has large quoins and 2 ground-floor doorways, that to left inserted,
that to right an altered quoined opening; 3 rows of triangular vents and
three lst-floor hatches. Stable on right has central door flanked by windows
all with segmental stone arches; lst-floor hatch with segmental brick arch to
left of centre. Rear: barn has a large boarded doorway between raking
buttresses. Stable hayloft door reached by external wooden steps.

Interior: barn has loft over bays 1 and 2 with old timber partition; roof has
light purlins clasped by collars to every 4th pair of rafters. Formed part
of South Farm although must once have been associated with Skellow Hall to
its west.
