Church. 1787. Coursed, squared gritstone, Welsh slate roof with central
lead flat. symmetrical plan. 2 storeys, 5 by 5 bays. Plinth. Central
blocked doorway, now window, has plinth blocks, monolithic jambs with
moulded panel, moulded round-arched head in 2 stones each with decorative
roundel, cornice. Windows to flanking bays in square-faced surrounds.
Band to first floor. sill band above linking central, corniced Venetian
window with square-faced windows to each side. All windows have
casements with glazing bars, mostly original, except ground floor bay 2
and infilled doorway window which have stained-glass panels. Coved
eaves course. Left return: doors with fanlights to bay 2 and 4 in
round-headed ashlar surrounds. Central tripartite window with stained
glass panel. Band to first floor, sill band above with central Venetian
window and square-faced flanking windows. Right return: Later flat-
roofed extension encloses original board door. To 1st floor, a large
Venetian window with doubled outer lights, outermost lights blocked.
Flanking square-faced windows to each floor. Interior: gallery to 3
sides supported on decorative iron columns. Bay 5 has large vestibule
beneath first floor meeting room. Small gabled extension to rear left
not of special interest.
