House, originally known as Walton Villas (tithe-award map c1800 Wakefield District
Archives). Late C18. Hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys. 3 x 3
bays. Symmetrical facade. Doorway with overlight in Tuscan porch. All bays have
12-pane sash windows with plain raised surrounds, ground-floor windows recessed
within segmental arches. Hipped roof. 4 stacks. Rear L-shaped with windows as
at front (some blind). Left-hand return (faces south) has 20-paned sashes and
doorway with monolithic jambs set between 2nd and 3rd bays. Right-hand return
has arched recess to left bay.
Interior: largely plain with 6-panel doors. Dog-leg stair with simple stick
balusters and swept handrail.
