ST 58 SE ALMONDSBURY HOLLYWOOD LANE (west side)

Lodge, now house. Dated TC/1731 on plaque, altered and extended C19 and c.1930
in similar style. Rubble, rendered, plain tile and pantiled roofs with
decorative ridge coping, brick stacks. Irregular plan. Picturesque.
2 storey gable front has decorative barge boards and spike finial, one window to
each floor, both 3-light casements under timber lintel with c.1820 diamond
glazing bars, shutters with strap hinges, wall curves to south with one window,
small window to north with hexagonal glazing bars. Rear c.1930 addition has
rubble at ground floor and timber construction exposed, porch with panelled and
glazed door, 2 dormers and window in gable end, rear has 3-light casement at
ground floor, all with diamond glazing bars. Possibly former lodge to Knole
Park, now demolished.
