House. C18. Red brick with old clay tile roof. 2-room plan, 2 storeys, with
single storeyed block projecting from rear. Front: 2 2-light casements with
glazing bars to each floor,ground floor ones under cambered heads. Central
front door, part glazed, in moulded surround, with bracketed gabled hood. Red
brick coping to gables. Red brick integral stacks to both gable ends. Eaves
level brick band to gable ends. Rear block, linked to front block by
conservatory, has casement windows, and brick coping and eaves level brick
band to gable ends. Building served as village school and school master's
house for part of C18 and early C19 (Bedfordshire Record Office, various
documents).
