House. Medieval origins (VCH Bedfordshire. Vol. III, p461), present
structure a mixture of C18, C19 and earlier. Much of ground floor is of
coursed ironstone. Elsewhere mainly red brick with chequerwork patterning in
flared headers, the C19 part in plain red brick. C20 tile roofs. Main block
to S of 2 storeys and attics, with C18 and C19 2 storeyed additions to N.S
elevation: ground floor has 3 casements of varying sizes, all with glazing
in an enlarged opening with brick surround. First floor has 3
sashes with glazing bars, their frames almost flush with wall. One box dormer
containing sash with glazing bars. To RH is C19 gabled dormer containing 2-
light casement. C19 brick porch with false gable. To R of this is lean-to
conservatory. Variety of ridge and gable end chimney stacks.
