Small country house. C16, C17, with early C18 alterations, early C19 additions and alterations and early and late C20 additions and alterations. Ashlar gritstone to central and southern bay, coursed squared gritstone to rest, with gritstone dressings and quoins. Stone slate roofs with C19 lapped stone copings, C17 external stack to south, C19 twin, triple and single diamond set stone side wall, ridge and gable end stacks. Deep plinth to main elevation and large ovolo moulded cornice to northern advanced bay. Irregular fenestration, part two storeys, part two storeys plus attics and part single storey.

Original T-plan, extended to H-plan, with C17 addition to north, early C19 addition recessed to south, and large 1904 addition to north-west, with later C20 alterations to north elevation. Garden elevation has two advanced gabled bays, each with a pair of glazing bar sashes in moulded early C18 surrounds, those to south with projecting keystones. To north, a recessed bay with C17 three-light recessed and chamfered mullion window. Between advanced bays, a recessed section with a two-light recessed and cavetto moulded mullion window with pointed lights and incised spandrels to north, similar four-light window to south, both windows probably C16 but lowered in C19. Beyond, to south, stonework projects forward and has narrow window in. Considerably set back to far south, an early C19 single storey addition with central, canted bay window with pointed lights and embattled parapets.

To north a basket-headed, moulded arch with recessed double doors. Above C18 sashes in advanced southern bay, a central three-light cavetto moulded mullion window set in an ovolo moulded recess, with pointed lights and incised spandrels, probably C16. Above in advanced northern bay, two early C19 cavetto moulded two-light mullion windows with pointed lights and incised spandrels. Three similar to central section. To north, C17 three-light recessed and chamfered mullion window. Similar window above in gable of advanced northern bay. South elevation of advanced southern bay has large central external stack with glazing bar sashes in moulded C18 surrounds to either side and C17 three-light recessed and cavetto moulded mullion windows with hoodmoulds to either side above. Rear elevations have a mixture of recessed and chamfered, and recessed and cavetto mullion windows with pointed lights, mostly early C19 or early C20. Main entrance to north elevation with similar doorcase to that on early C19 addition to south.

Interior - the central hall has grid of large chamfered crossing beams across roughly three-quarters of the ceiling, possibly indicating original screens passage to north, also wide early C19 four-centred, ovolo moulded fireplace. Southern room panelled in C18 but with original slightly cambered, ovolo moulded fireplace, C16 wall paintings behind panelling on north wall in 'antique style', and chamfered crossing beams to ceilings, similar to those in hall, except with finer finish. To west wall, C16 two-light window with pointed lights. Original stone spiral staircase near north west corner of hall, beyond which passage extends to early C19 addition room with ribbed and coved 'Strawberry Gothic' style ceiling. To north, the old kitchen with very wide fireplace with moulded jambs and chamfered stone lintel. Above, in southern bedroom, original muntin and plank panelled wall with C16 wall paintings, in antique style, mostly in black and white, to east side. Also in this room door leads to priest's hole.
