House, converted to Co-operative store 1905, when extended (RHS) from
4 bays to 5. Mid C19. Dressed sandstone; low-pitched Westmorland
slate roof in diminishing courses; stone ridge and gabled copings
(LHS); stone stack with cornice cap (LHS); brick stack to rear (S.
side). 2 storeys. Early and mid C20 shop fronts to ground floor;
central bracketed arcade entrance. Central sash window with glazing
bars and plain painted architrave on first floor, flanked by tripartite
bow windows with sashes, glazing bars and reeded mullions. Continuous
narrow timber modillion eaves cornice and timber guttering. Extensions
to rear (S. side) are not of interest. Included for group value
with Nos. 79 and 81 Westgate.
