Small country house. Datestone 1749, for Richard Ward Offley, with later
additions and alterations. Red brick and low-pitched slate hipped roofs.
Central block of 3 bays with 2 projecting gabled wings. 2 storeys; 2:3:2
windows, glazing bar sashes with gauged heads; overhanging verges to gables
with moulded wooden rails painted white to resemble pediments. Central stone
colonnade and Classical-style portico on lower service range to right added
c.1923. Interior: not inspected, but said to have been extensively damaged
by fire in 1950; re-used timbers in cellar include a wall-plate from a house
of close-studded construction. V.C.H. VIII (1968), p.258.
