Farmhouse. Datestone 1780; extended in late C18 or early C19. Red brick in Flemish bond.
Plain tile roof with gabled ends and brick dentil eaves course. Brick gable-end stacks. PLAN:
2-room single-depth plan main range with central entrance and long service wing at the centre
rear incorporates stables and loft at the end.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic. Symmetrical 3-window west front. Tall late C18
cross-mullion-transom windows on ground floor with casements and glazing bars; smaller first
floor windows with C20 casements; all in original cambered arch openings. Central doorway with
circa late C19 glazed and panelled door. Extension on left has one cross-mullion-transom
window, plank door and brick dentil course above. At rear a long 1-storey and attic wing at
centre with stable doors on north side and loft door in gable end. Single storey wing at rear right.
INTERIOR: joinery largely intact and includes the original staircase with stick balusters and
square newels, doors and apparently some chimneypieces. Roof exposed in attic, has large side
purlins and common-rafter couples.
