Farmhouse. Mid-C18 with later additions and alterations. Red brick;
slate roof has mid-C19 integral end stacks with moulded capping. 2 storeys
with floor band and dentilled eaves cornice. 3-window front; late C19
casements in C18 segmental-headed openings to first floor and 4-paned sashes
with chamfered stone lintels to ground floor. Central entrance; 6-panel
door (top panels now glazed) under bracketed flat hood. Plinth has 3-
light chamfered stone mullion window lighting cellar immediately to right
of entrance with similar infilled window to left. Parallel gabled range
to rear on right with infilled segmental-headed window on first floor and
full-height gable to right, apparently truncated and continued as lower
mid-to late C19 range, also parallel with main range. Single-storey mid-
C19 kitchen range projecting at right-angles to full-height gable has prominent
integral end stack. Garden walls: attached to back corners of main range
to left and right, right one terminating in small timber framed outbuilding
(q.v.). Probably late C18. Red brick with stone coping. Left wall
has round-arched recess and segmental-headed doorway and links house with
barn to south-west (q.v.). Interior of house not inspected but likely
to be of interest. Included for group value.
