granary at Babland Farm
GV II
Two-storey bank barn, in line with lower outbuilding with loose boxes. Early
C19. Rubble, corrugated asbestos-cement sheet on barn, slurried slate on lower
buildings, and some slate to back slope of barn. Barn, almost touching and
parallel with the granary (q.v.) has square loading opening to concrete lintel
on farm side, over various openings with corrugated iron lean-to over. Back has
pair of doors to upper barn level, also loading opening in north gable. Ten-bay
scissors and tie-beam roof, 3 purlins. Lower block has half-hipped outer end, 4
doors to segmental heads with stone voussoirs. Runs in line parallel with farm-
house (q.v.) and granary to form a good group.
