Granary/cartlodge. C18. Timber framed, weatherboarded, roofed with corrugated
iron. 4 equal cart bays open to the N, and shorter bay for stair at the E end.
One storey with attic (granary). Gambrel roof half-hipped at both ends. A
window aperture at each end on the granary floor, shutters or casements missing.
Frame wholly of hardwood of high quality. The transverse beams are supported at
each end by a wide bolted knee, and in the middle by a samson post with arched
braces each side, morticed and pegged. Plain joists of vertical section.
Primary straight bracing in walls. Clasped purlin roof. An exceptionally
complete and well-built example of its type.
