brick in Flemish bond, painted brick and plaster, roofed with handmade red clay
tiles. Main range of 6 bays facing S, with 2 axial stacks and one rear front
right corner. Single-storey extension to left, 1938. Shorter parallel range to
rear, C18 with one external stack of red brick near left end, and single-storey
lean-to extensions near it. C20 rear wing at right end with one internal stack,
and lean-to conservatory to right. 2 storeys. 6-window range of C20 sashes in
early C19 apertures. Approximately central 6-panel door with panelled jambs and
soffit, moulded flat canopy, and hinged roller blind incorporated, all early

finishes. The roof is of joggled butt-purlin construction, the rafters set
vertically; it incorporates many re-used rafters from a medieval crownpost roof,
some smoke-blackened.
