of Gossington Hall

Large barn, one part now dwelling. Probably c1695. Brick, stone slate hipped roof.
A U-plan with house now in west wing, and pigeon loft in east wing. Wide carriage
opening south side segmental arch; opening opposite side now blocked. Coved wooden
eaves cornice throughout. On each side of carriage opening 3 tall and 3 smaller
window slots. Original roof structure, with collar and tie, no struts. From the
detailing it seems apparent that the barn was built at the same time as the main house
(q.v.).
