Manor house. C17-C18 with C19 extensions; C17-C18 body roughly
coursed, squared and dressed limestone. C19 extension coursed,
squared and dressed limestone, limestone slate roof to all with
ashlar stack. Rectangular plan to C17-C18 main body with
'L'shaped C19 extension attached to left gable end with gable end
breaking forward on right. Late C19 single storey extension rear
left. Main body 2 storeys and garret, cellar at rear of C17-C18
part. 4-windowed facade. 2-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned
casements with horizontal glazing bars to C17-C18 body, 2 and 3-
light stone mullioned casements with cusped heads, carved spandrels
and stopped hoods to C19 main body. Plank door lower right of C19
extension within Tudor arched surround with hood over. Plank door
lower right of C17-C18 main body flanked by tall pilasters
continued upwards either side of blind 2-light stone mullioned
window (now blocked) with open triangular pediment above. Arms of
Stratford family within pediment (q.v. Church of St. Faith). C19
projecting stair turret of left of door. Roll-cross saddle at right
gable end of C17-C18 body. Twin diagonal stack at junction of axes
left. Pointed stone finial from apex of gable front.
