Farmhouse. Early C17 and later. Brick, colourwashed and partly rendered.
Main roof plain tiled with pantiled extensions. Two storeys and two storeys
and attics, L-shaped; cross passage plan to main range. C17 range of two
storeys and attics: three 5-light casement windows with ovolo moulded mullions
set in chamfered reveals. Remains of stuccoed ashlar decoration around window
openings. Ground floor lefthand side has later lean-to porch with 6-panel
door and semicircular fanlight with radiating glazing bars; fluted architrave
with corner paterae. 4 and 5-light ovolo moulded mullion windows, the left
hand window with a transom. Doorway off centre with double-quadrant moulded
frame with carved stops; door with studded and quadrant moulded vertical
battens. Drip moulds over ground floor openings. Attic dormer with 2-light
casement. Brick saw-tooth and modillion eaves courses. Crow-stepped west
gable with blocked attic and first floor window openings. Chimney stack at
east and west. Later two storey wing to rear (south) partly timber framed,
rendered over. Stepped south gable with internal chimney stack. Rear wall
of C17 range has two 5-light ovolo moulded mullion and transom windows and
one 2-light ovolo moulded window beside stack at first floor level. C20 lean-
to porch in angle. C17 doorway opposite that on north elevation, with similar
detailing. Interior has ovolo moulded tie beaisqqdfirst floor joists with
ogee stops.
