Wall and gate piers. c1763. By John Carr for Sir Lawrence Dundas. Ashlar
sandstone. Wall with plinth in lower sections, and with interval piers, all
with plain coping, the wall turning in a quadrant towards the chapel range
and with a trough, formerly fed with water from pipe in a carved lion mask,
on the forecourt side. 2 piers at entrance to chapel forecourt with bases,
chamfered rusticated stonework, panelled pedestals above the coping, with
classical cornice and C19 finials of a sphere set in a square. 2 piers at
entrance to coach-house forecourt with bases, cornice band and C19 finials
of a sphere set in a square.
