Summer house. Mid-late C18. Probably for Sir Lawrence Dundas. Ashlar and
coursed dressed sandstone. Distyle prostyle temple. Front elevation:
ashlar; 2 Roman Doric columns flanked by 2 matching half-columns carrying
Ionic entablature and cornice, with blocking above, in the centre of which
is a blind bas relief balustrade. Rear and sides of coursed dressed stone,
except for ashlar pilaster; eaves band and flat coping to parapet.
Interior: ashlar; the rear wall includes a shell niche and has in front of
it a wooden seat with heart-shaped legs. In front of the summer house are 2
ashlar steps with moulded nosings.
