Walls and gates enclosing wide rectangular apron north of almshouses. C17, rebuilt several times in places, lowered 1963 at entrance side (north). Square section piers in centre of north run carrying double wrought-iron gates. Wall ramped down from piers left and right. Walls return south from ends of front wall to meet corners of almshouse block.
