Row of 17 terraced houses. Faces Royal Agricultural Hall.
c1830-1840. Yellow and brown stockbricks set in Flemish bond;
roofs obscured by parapet; brick party-wall stacks. Three
storeys with basement; 2-window range. Side-hall entrance plan
with staircase. Low steps rise to entrance in left bay (No. 1
with 2 side entrances to left return): doorways with simple
jambs (Nos 6-11), fluted (no 1) pilaster jambs (12-13), and
engaged columns (Nos. 2-5 & 14-17) carrying cornice-heads (No
3 with C20 jambs and cornice-head), original 6-panelled doors
(Nos 2, 3, 6, 11 C20), round (No 1) and segmental (Nos 3-13
3-lights; nos. 2 & 15-16 stucco) arched fanlights; no 1 with
architraves. Ground-floor gauged brick flat (Nos 1-2, 3-5,
6-11) and segmental (Nos 13-17) arches to 6/6 sashes; Nos 9 &
10 with cast iron window guards. Upper floors with gauged
brick flat arches to 2/2 (Nos 6-11) and 6/6 sashes; 1st floor
with full-length sashes; individual iron balconies to no 1 and
neoclassical style window guards to no. 5. (Nos 1-3 with C20
sashes throughout). Plain parapet with coping stone. Attached
iron railings. Remains of fine cast-iron railings at end of
terrace attached to no. 17 including gate and curved bracket.
