Public house. Late C16, remodelled and extended to rear early
C19. Painted roughcast; stone coping to parapet, cornice,
cills and dripmould; pantile roof with brick stacks to right
gable end and left of centre. 3-unit plan, with rear right
wing making L-plan. 2 storeys; 4-window range. Flat arches to
8/8-pane sash windows except those flanking the
right-of-centre door, which are 6/6-pane tripartite sashes;
that to ground-floor right is under C19 label mould. Door is
in C20 pointed-arched stone architrave, small datestone above
door, '1563'. Rear wing has C19 6/6-pane sashes. INTERIOR:
ground floor has 2 stop-chamfered beams; to rear right corner
is massive stone lintel with recessed Tudor arch over moulded
stopped jambs to open fire. The room above has similar but
smaller fireplace above and to left of it.
