House, now public house. Mid/late C18, possibly a remodelling
of an earlier house. Painted Flemish-bond brick, painted stone
coping to parapet, cornice, platband, stepped voussoirs and
cills; hipped mansard pantile roof with brick stack to right.
Deep plan, at right-angles to street with passage to right. 3
storeys; one-window range. The cornice and platband are
returned to the right return where the building is stepped
forward from the Town Hall on right (qv). Sash windows have
flat arches, 3/6 panes to second floor and 6/6 panes to first
floor, a small late C19 sash window above the platband of
right return. Door to right, substantial moulded consoles and
moulded cornice to C20 small-paned shop window. INTERIOR not
inspected.
