Farmhouse and adjoining malthouse and two hop kilns, now converted to one
dwelling. C17 with mid-C18 and mid-C19 alterations and additions; restored
mid-C20. Part timber-framed with brick refacing and replacement walling,
pebble dashed at gable ends with brick additions; plain tiled roofs. Main
part of three framed bays aligned north-west/south-east; large external
rubble chimney with offsets and brick stack at north-west gable end and
also large chimney to rear of central bay with brick stack at base of roof
pitch. Two storeys and attic. Windows are all C20 casements. North-east
front elevation: regular arrangement, two ground floor and three first
floor cross-casements; two skylights; central C20 hipped-roofed porch with
central door and side lights. Attic lights in gable ends. Interior is said
to retain original framing, and noted as having large fireplace in north-west
ground floor room. Adjoining malthouse: four bays; single storey and attic
with dormers; ground floor has a 2-light and two 3-light casements and
glazed double doors; four flat-roofed C20 half-dormers, two with 3-light
casements and two with 2-light casements. Hop kilns: square with pyramidal
slate roofs. Front elevation has a ground and first floor 3-light casement.
