Barn and stables. C17, mid-C19 alterations, restored late C20.
Timber-framed, rendered infill, sandstone rubble base, part weatherboarded
with corrugated iron roof. Four framed bays; second bay from north gable
end is wagon bay with opposed square-headed cart entries and large double
doors; south end bay is the stable bay. Framing: three square panels from
sill to wall-plate, short straight braces in upper corners, collar-and-tie-
beam trusses with queen struts to collar and V-struts in apex. West front
elevation has two C20 doors flanking central cart entrance, also door and
wood-mullioned window with loft door above at stable end. Interior: roof
has C20 alterations including two rows of trenched purlins and board ridge;
trusses each side of wagon bay are of collar-and-tie-beam type with raking
struts.
