Composite pedestal and statue of Spinario. c1720. Pedestal by Nicholas
Hawksmoor. Sandstone pedestal, lead statue. Pedestal approximately 4.5
metres in height, statue life size. Central rectangular pier surmounted by
drum pedestal, flanked by rectangular buttresses with raised panels, each
carrying an urn with festoons and finial on shaped base. Moulded base and
cornices. Statue of Spinario, a seated boy removing a thorn from his foot.
