GV II

Barns. C18, with C19 modifications. Ham stone roughly cut and squared, ashlar dressings; hipped plain clay tiled roofs
over stone slate base courses, with weathervane to angle. 'L'-plan, mostly 2 storey. Southwards range of 6 bays: bay 2,
3, 4 and 5 have elliptical arches with keystones, the middle pair now blocked; 2-light chamfer-mullioned window bay 2,
above, left doors bays 2 4 and 6, with smaller door to upper bay 1, this last reached by a stone staircase. North range
of 6 bays: C20 window lower bays 1 and 3, tall elliptical-arched doorway bay 2; mullioned windows with vertical iron
bars to both levels bays 4 and 6, with labels over; C20 doorway lower bay 4 right; bay 5 has elliptical arched doorways
at both levels, with stone staircase to upper door. Roof has scissor trusses. 0utbuilding to rear, with drive shaft for
machinery mounted along wall, presumably engine driven. (SSAVBRG Report, unpublished SRO, March 1983).
