House. 1886 by Phillip Webb. Red brick below, tile hung above with painted
weatherboard in gables and plain tiled roofs. Compact plan. Two storeys and
attics, in gables, with multiple offset stacks to sides of gables. Entrance
front:- Central gable with glazing bar sash fenestration, two windows on attic,
first and ground floors, the latter with segmental heads. One first floor case-
ment window in lower range to left over door under transome light and with small
ground floor window to right. Further range set back to right of centre gable
with hip-roofed break over first floor, with 3 windows, and projecting pentice-
roofed ground floor with leaded fenestration and door in right hand return end.
Left hand return front:- gable projecting slightly over elevation with
angled corners, two cambered-head glazing bar sash windows to each floor, further
windows, one on each floor, in angled faces to corners. Rear - tall gabled bay
to centre with two attic sashes, tiled vertical canopy under gable over two first
floor glazing bar sash windows, two 15-pane cambered-head sash windows below.
Further windows, one on each floor in angled faces to corners.
Interior:- Generally simple, some plain fireplace surrounds. Square open well
staircase with gallery/landing to fourth wall.
