Terraced row of 5 small town houses. c.1840-45; altered. Red
brick in Flemish bond, with sandstone dressings and slate
roof. Double-depth plan, each house single-fronted, with
coupled back extensions. Two storeys over cellars, a 9-window
range, with stone plinth, band, plain frieze and moulded
gutter cornice; doorways to the left, with moulded architraves
and cornices on consoles; windows with raised sills, those at
ground floor with flat-arched heads, and all with altered
glazing. No.35 St Austin's Road has double-fronted facade,
with blind windows to right and over door. Roof hipped at left
end, with ridge chimneys (some cut down). Rear and INTERIORS
not inspected. Forms group with Nos 38-44 (q.v.), Nos 30-34 St
Austin's Road (q.v.), and with Church of St Augustine and its
presbytery opposite (q.v.).
