Small square court with archways and ice house. c1860 for Rev.
David Edwards. Brick walls; marlstone ashlar archways; whale-
bone entrance arch to ice house. Square court entered on north
side with walls brought down to ground level. Moorish key-hole
stone archway on south side; Egyptian archway to left leads to
pathway ending at lakeside seat. Two large curved whale bones
provide pointed-arched entry to ice house right, followed by timber
version of Egyptian archway leading to brick and stone-lined inner
part with further Egyptian arch in stone; ice chamber beyond.
Simple stone urn stands in centre of court. Moorish arch leads to
curving brick.tunnel-vaulted corridor which is mostly above ground
level; terminated at south end by plain brick round arch.
Located immediately to the east of Lake Lodge (q.v.). One of a
sequence of features in the very extensive Regency and early
Victorian landscaped park and pleasure gardens.
