Former farmhouse. C16, in 2 phases, the parlour end slightly later. c19
stable addition to right, now part of the living accommodation. Timber framed
and plastered, thatched roof. 1½ storeys. 3-cell form. Mid C20 small-paned
casement windows. One original diamond-mullioned window is exposed on the
upper floor and another is visible internally. C20 battened plank door in
cross-entry position; shallow open-fronted porch. 3 tall eyebrow dormers.
Internal stack with rendered shaft. Gable stack to left. C19 addition in red
brick with chevron tiles. Much of the frame is exposed inside. Arched
bracing visible in service and hall cells but concealed at parlour end where
it is against the outside of the studs. Chamfered-joist ceilings in hall and
parlour, that in the parlour better finished. Parlour wallposts have shaped
heads. Back-to-back open fireplaces. Altered newel stair. Clasped purlin
roof, wind-braced only over the earlier phase.
