House and farm building, now shop. 1659-60 with later addition and C20
alteration. Squared limestone with stone slate roof. Three storeys with
attic, three bays. Two drip courses. Windows are mullioned, with rebates
and hollow chamfers. Six-light windows to left-hand bay on ground floor and
to both outer bays on first floor. In the middle bay is a two-storey canted
bay window with four lights at the front on each floor. Its parapet has two
ball finials and is carved with three shields. The outer ones are dated "1659"
and "1660". Each bay has a third floor window of four lights partly within a
gable, and an attic window under the apex of each gable, of two lights in the
outer bays and three in the centre. The gables are coped with ball finials.
The door, at the right, has a chamfered surround with canted head. Gable
chimneys have diagonal shafts with cornices and lozenge friezes.
Adjoining to the right is a former farm building, converted to form part of
the shop in the early C20. It is of two storeys and four bays and has mullioned
windows, of five lights on the ground floor. On the first floor they are of
three lights except for the third bay, which has a 2-light window. The fourth
bay is blank on the ground floor. In the third bay is a chamfered archway
with segmental head. Chimneys to right of first bay and on right-hand gable.
Interior: central room on ground floor with chamfered main ceiling beam and
moulded stone fireplace with canted head. Stair has closed string and turned
balusters. On the first floor the left-hand room has a chamfered stone fire-
place with canted head. Middle room has similar, moulded, fireplace.
