C19 and C20 additions. Flemish bond orange and red brick with some
yellow headers. Graduated Welsh slate roof with a stone ridge and
coping. 1 gable and lateral brick chimneys. Long rectangular plan,
perhaps developing from C17 hall and crosswing. 2-storey, 6-bay south
front. Right hand 3 bays present a symmetrical facade with channelled
stone heads and moulded composite stone sills to C20 steel casements
with glazing bars. Central bay has recent Tuscan porch and doorcase
to 6-panelled door. 3 bays to left are set back and have 2 and
3-light steel casements under segmental brick heads and a central
6-panelled door in a heavy wooden case. Sun lounge added to the left.
Interior: room to left of entrance reveals timber small framing which
also survives inside the brick skin, in parts. Several rooms have
ovolo-moulded ceiling beams with jewelled stops of this period. The
majority of the fittings are late C18. Good oak well staircase with
turned balusters, moulded and ramped handrail with a spiral end. Cut
brackets on open string. Fielded panelling in the well. 4 and 6-
fielded panelled doors in doorcases with panelled soffits. Fragments
of C17 painted glass in the stairwell window.
