2 houses. Early C19. Dressed stone with ashlar dressings,
felted roof, possibly stone slate. 2 storeys with attic, 5
bays. Base, quoins, cornice and coped gables, that to left
with ball finials. Windows have plain surrounds and are
sashed with glazing bars; but 2nd bay of ground floor has
paired windows with single-bar sashes. 3 gabled roof
dormers with small-paned round-headed lights and side
lights. Round-headed recess to right of 1st floor window to
3rd bay. Round-headed entrance to 4th bay has fanlight with
glazing bars and paired half-glazed doors. 5 cross-axial
stacks. Hexagonal cupola on Tuscan columns to right-hand
end. Left return has round-headed entrance and stair
window. Right return has blocked large elliptical-headed
entrance; sashed window and windows with horizontally-
sliding sashes to 1st floor. Top clock face with flanking
lozenge vents. Rear similar; dormers with horizontaly
sliding sashes. Believed to be school run by nuns from The
Mount (q.v.).
