Bridge. Probably 1838, engineer Frederick Swanwick for the Sheffield and
Rotherham Railway (Whishaw, p. 400). Red brick, sandstone band and copings.
Single span. Keyed segmental arch springs from moulded band. Arch
flanked by battered piers and abutment walls with square, projecting end
piers. Continuous rounded band above arch breaks forward at piers.
Parapet with moulded and chamfered copings. The Sheffield to Rotherham
line was opened on November 1st, 1838.
