Lychgate. Circa 1897. E S Prior. Arts & Crafts style. Dwarf, curved side
walls of flint with stone dressings support the timber framed upper walls and
shingle tiled roof which is hipped and bowed to north and south. of 2 bays,
heavy storey posts support the central cambered tie beam, pegged and carved king
post over. double side purlin ridge board roof. Plain cill and wall plates.
three-light side openings with S shaped mullions. Carved trailing foliage to all
main timbers excepting the centre truss and wall plates, carved flowers and
foliage to ridge board. Timber side seats to south bay. Flint faced north bay.
Pair of gates with pegged, diagonal battens, wrought iron strap hinges and
catch. Given by Col M C Browning of Brantham Court to commemorate the Diamond
Jubilee of Queen Victoria. J W Gooch, Peoples Warden. Historical Notes on
