Valley Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse. Late C16/early C17 with C19 wing to rear. Timber framed and
plastered, pantiled roof. 2 storeys and attic. 3 cell form with lobby
entrance. 3 windows, mid C20 large-paned casements. Mid C19 2-storey porch:
plastered with rusticated quoins and crenellated parapet. Mid C20 6-panel
door and re-used doorcase, adapted to fit: fluted pilasters, entablature with
convex frieze and modillion cornice. Good internal stack, quite tall, with 4
hexagonal flues grouped in sawtooth fashion. The hall and parlour have
exposed joists and ovolo-moulded floor beams with double stop-chamfers and
moulded soffits.
