2/27 The Old Rectory

House, at one time the rectory. Late C18. Red brick, with a wooden mutule
eaves cornice; roof of glazed black pantiles. 2 storeys. Symmetrical
entrance front: 4 windows, inset sashes with glazing bars under flat brick
arches; stuccoed reveals. Doorway with 6-panel raised and fielded door (the
upper 2 panels glazed), convex reeded pilasters with acanthus capitals,
entablature with guttae and cornice. 3-bay left hand return front, the centre
bay set forward and with the cornice pedimented over it; windows as entrance
front. First used as a rectory in 1846.
