Beechfield House

Stable court, early and later C19, painted rubble stone with stone
tile and slate roofs. 'U'-plan, original section to south-east
under half-hipped stone-tiled roof with metal louvre on ridge,
initials of F.H. Goldney in vane. Four windows and 3 doors
alternating, all in flush stone surrounds. Later C19 addition
comprises curved north end and south-west wing. Squared rubble
with moulded stone eaves, slate roof and large gabled carriage arch
to centre of north end. Moulded arch with moulded imposts and
vermiculated keystone, roundel and flush quoins to upper storey and
open pedimental eaves to gable. Curved range each side has ashlar-
framed arched openings with vermiculated keystone, 2 windows and 2
doors to right, 2 windows and one door to left. South-east wing
continues with 4 bays to court, originally open with timber
pillars, 3 now glazed, fourth infilled with rubble stone. South
end has large C20 opening. Some original stable fittings in curved
range. Main carriage arch now blocked.
