Farmhouse. C17 with C19 additions and alterations. Timber framed with
pebbledash render and brick with pebbledash render and a plain tile roof,
originally thatched to the C17 portion. Two storey and attic. Entrance
front: projecting late C19 wing at right with double gable. Six panel
ground floor door to the left hand panel and a 3-light window to left of it
and to the first floor. The right hand gable has 4-light casements to the
ground and first floors and a 2-light attic window. Recessed at left of
this is the C17 portion which has C19 fenestration. Four-light casements
at right and left. To the first floor are a 3-light casement at right and
a projecting gabled C19 bathroom addition at left with a 2-light window.
Further 2-light casement to far left. Right hand side of the house: two 4-
light casements to ground and first floors. Rear: (perhaps originally
entrance front) C19 and C20 fenestration. Porch-wing at right of centre
with ½-glazed door with a 2-light first floor window. To left of this are
two 4-light casements and to far left a pair of French windows within a
gabled open porch. To the first floor are two 4-light and one 3-light
casements and a single-light window. To the attic are two gabled dormers.
to the gable at left a 2-light window. C19 addition at right with a C20
metal-framed casement. Chimney stack to ridge at left with rectangular
base and sawtooth flues above and oversailing top courses. Similar C19
stack at right.
Interior: ovolo-moulded crossed ceiling beams to the ground floor and first
floor room of the cross-wing with chamfered beams to the other rooms.
Close studding to the walls and jowled wall posts previously supporting
arched braces.
