Pair of attached houses, now shops and office. c1820, mid C19
shops, restored mid C20. Brick and stucco with limestone
dressings, brick party wall stack and pantile hipped roof to
the right. Double-depth plan. Late Georgian style. Each of 3
storeys and attic; 2-window range. C19 shop fronts, pilaster
strips above to a cornice and parapet. No.46 has panelled
jambs with consoles to a fascia with curved end brackets and a
cornice, left-of-centre doorway recessed at an angle with
consoles, and plate-glass windows; stuccoed above with narrow
6/6-pane sashes. Roof not visible. No.47 has a left-of-centre
doorway set back from a plate-glass shop front with end
consoles to a fascia and cornice; segmental-arched heads with
5 stepped voussoirs to 6/6-pane sashes. INTERIOR not
inspected.
