Offices, now 2 shops. c1860-70, said to have been rebuilt
after fire in 1870. Limestone ashlar. Rectangular plan.
Italianate style. 4 storeys; symmetrical 4-window range.
Moulded coping to the parapet and a rich modillion cornice
span the 2 buildings; a pilaster similar to the rusticated
quoins divides the facade; third-floor 2/2-pane sash windows
have segmental arches, moulded eared architraves and a
guilloche-type string-course at cill level; second-floor
plate-glass sash windows have moulded architraves with
dentilled cornices and a dentilled string-course from which
the cills are stepped out on consoles; first-floor plate-glass
sash windows are set in moulded eared architraves with a plain
cill band to No.11, left, and a higher moulded cornice above
the fascia of the shop below to No.10. C20 shop-fronts.
INTERIOR not inspected. A similar design to other commercial
premises at Nos 8 & 9 (qv).
