Two shops. Early C19. Flemish bond brick, clay tile coping to
party wall and rear gable, stone cornice and cills; pantile
mansard roof hipped and curved to the right corner and hipped
rear left wing; C20 coping and tiles to gabled rear right
wing; rendered stack to party wall. Double-depth plan with 2
rear wings. 3 storeys with attics; each building is 3-window
range. Flat gauged brick arches. 6/6-pane sash windows to
second floor and full-height 9/9-pane sashes to first floor.
No.29 to right has a curved bay to the corner, the parapet and
cornice return to the right along George Street and right-hand
windows are on curved bay; on first floor they have segmental
iron balconettes with lead ornament on vertical rails. The
cornice and parapet continue round right return which has 2
smaller blind windows to both upper floors. The rear right
wing without a parapet is 3-window range. It has 8/8-pane sash
windows to second-floor left and a 10/10-pane sash to right; 3
large 8/8-pane sashes at different levels to first floor. To
far right is a lower one-window range of 3 storeys; 3/6-pane
sash over one of 8/8-panes and C20 door and overlight. C20
shop-front. Tall C18 service block to rear of No.25 with
lateral stack and hipped roof. INTERIOR not inspected.
