Two gate piers with vases and wall

Gate piers and wall. Late C17. Dressed limestone. Piers are square with rebate for gates and have a moulded cornice. Each pier is surmounted by a large vase with carved rim and bowl. The left hand pier has a short length of wall adjoining, also of dressed limestone with original gabled coping. The piers and wall are associated with Portland House, Whittlesey demolished after a fire c1950.
